Dear Stylelife Challenger,
Here is your Stylelife Challenge Assignment for July 14th.
Today’s topic is cold-reading, one of the quickest ways to distinguish yourself from all the other guys.
TASK 1
Read and take notes on the following ebook on cold-reading:
The Magic of Coldreading
TASK 2 (Optional)
Go to a psychic and get a reading.
If you have a small tape recorder, ask to record the session.
If you do not know where to find a local psychic (such as a neighborhood storefront or street market), check the listings guide you read yesterday or go to http://www.switchboard.com and search under “psychic mediums.”
Warning: Though most psychics are trustworthy, do not share financial, credit card, or personally identifying information. In addition, you should not have to pay more than the intitially quoted fee; if they ask for money after the reading to “warn you” of an imposing event, do not fall for this. Thank them for their time and leave.
Note: The only reason this task is listed as optional is because it costs money, typically from five to twenty-five dollars – don’t pay more. However, it is strongly recommended for all Stylelife Challenge participants.
TASK 3
The following task is for both those who performed Task 2 and those who did not.
If you’ve already had a psychic reading, skip this paragraph. If you didn’t have one because of money or time, go to the following website: Get Your Astrology Chart.
Input your date, time, and location of birth, and get your “birth chart.” Read the information as if you are getting your fortune told.
After the session, spend a few minutes analyzing the information based on the cold-reading ebook. Ask yourself the following questions:
Did you feel that the reading was good or bad? Why?
Did you feel that the reader was performing a generic routine or genuinely connecting with you? Why?
Did you feel that the reader understood you better than a stranger would? Why?
Do you feel that the reader was in touch with a higher power? Why?
Do you feel that you would want to visit the reader again? Why?
If there were any lines or phrases that the psychic (or astrology site) said to you that particularly struck home, write them down.
Task 4
Go to the Stylelife Forum. You’ll notice a new section, titled Cold-Reading. Add any lines the psychic said that worked for you, impressed you, or that you think are applicable when talking to women.
If you didn’t go to a psychic today because of the cost or time, feel free to generate your own ORIGINAL cold-reading lines or modify your favorites from your astrology reading to be applicable.
Throughout the day, look through the cold-reading lines shared by your fellow Challengers and give a QUALITY POINT to your three favorite posts.
