Day 30
Dear Stylelife Challenger,
Here is your Stylelife Challenge Assignment for July 30th.
If you have not yet been on or arranged a date this month, it’s time to get serious.
Tomorrow, the Challenge ends.
And you have the tools it takes to be a winner.
All you have to do is use and implement them.
If you don't have a date yet, it's time to sprint to the finish line.
And to make sure no one gets left behind, I’ve saved one technique for Day 29:
The Stylelife Challenge Instant Conversation Starter.
It’s up to you to go out and use it.
TASK 1
If you have not yet been on or arranged a date, print out the following pdf:
Instant Conversation Starter
TASK 2
Go to a coffee shop, preferably a place with high traffic such as Starbucks, the Coffee Bean, or a university coffeehouse. Bring your Instant Conversation Starter and something to write with.
Fill in three to five spaces on the list with films. However, leave the number one and number two spaces blank.
Ask women for assistance in filling out the survey. Since this is the penultimate day of the Challenge and it is a Sunday, spend as long as it takes until you have a solid number close -- from a woman who you are near-certain will come to your Stylelife Challenge party tomorrow (or, if you weren’t able to plan a party, to an event in your Stylelife Calendar).
Here’s a sample script you may want to use:
“Hey, you look like you may know something about movies. I’m trying to vote on the top 25 films of all time for an online magazine I sometimes do stuff for, and I’m experiencing total brain freeze. Here’s what I have so far.”
Then show her the list, and have her help you fill it out. Some suggestions are included at the bottom of the survey, in case she has trouble thinking on the spot.
When the energy begins to flag, start a new thread by using an opinion opener or the ring finger pattern.
Your goal, of course, is to seed your Challenge Party (or Day 31 calendar event), invite her to it at the end of the conversation, and use the number close you learned here.
If you’ve spent more than an hour in the coffee shop and haven’t gotten the result you want yet, feel free to post on the Challenge Discussion board or call your Stylelife Challenge teammate and ask for tips. Then head to another coffee shop and try again.
This is the first day of the rest of your dating life.
